TypoCircle 40th anniversary exhibition

The social side of the organisation is also proudly on show with one wall listing all the people who have given a talk at TypoCircle. It’s an impressive collection of names and goes some way to convey the breadth of creative disciplines and backgrounds that they have involved in their programme.

The Protein Gallery will be showing the posters and journals until this Sunday – and it’s also the only place you can get your hands on a copy of the new TypoCircle publication (below), which brings together a history of the organisation (formed in 1976), details the 19 issues of Circular to date and features a sample of the posters that have accompanied the Typo Talks.

TypoCircle’s 40th anniversary publication

While the exhibition celebrates the work of those who have helped to make this creative social club what it is today, TypoCircle is looking to the future as it continues to reflect the collaborative nature of creative work and the spilling over and merging of disciplines.

If you can’t make the show, then there’s plenty of information on TypoCircle’s schedule of talks at – complete with details on the three-tiered membership (individual: £30; student: £15; company/college: £125). And our visual history of Circular, in production since 1993, is here.
