Offset heads north for Sheffield Design Week

Offset launched in Dublin in 2009 and held its first UK event in London last year. This year, it’s heading to Yorkshire two host 18 talks over two days during Sheffield Design Week and Sheffield Hallam University’s Catalyst Festival of Creativity.

Eight speakers have been announced so far: typographer and teacher Wolfgang Weingart, Lego Star Wars chief designer Jens Kronvold Frederiksen; illustrator Laura Carlin, graphic designer Alan Aboud (creative director of Aboud + Aboud), VFX house MPC, games makers The Creativity Hub, designer and director Shane Griffin and creative director Aaron Duffy, who has created ads for Facebook, Squarespace, Audi and Google Chrome and co-directed OK-GO video the Writing’s on the Wall.

The festival takes place on October 21 and 22 at the Crucible Theatre. Early bird tickets are available until June 30 and cost £100 for students, £160 for professionals or £140 for professional groups of five or more.

Day tickets are also available, priced at £60 for students, £90 for groups and £110 for professionals
