Photographers’ agent Webber Represents and Webber Gallery Space have launched a charity auction to raise money that will go towards Refugee Support Europe, an organisation that raises awareness about the migrant crisis and supports refugees with projects in Alexandreia and Filippiada in Greece.
The 16 participating photographers are all represented by Webber and have donated one piece each, selected by curators Chantal Webber, Daisy Parker and Dominic Bell. The list of artists includes Thomas Albdorf, Greg White, Thomas Brown, Daniel Shea, Marton Perlaki and Gregory Halpern.
The live auction is now open and bids can be placed will December 16, for winning bidders to receive their chosen pieces in time for Christmas. All the photographs will be on display at the Webber Gallery Space on Wednesday December 14 from 5 to 9 p.m.
Photographer Jo Metson Scott spent some time at Refugee Support Europe’s camp in Alexandreira earlier this year to record the crisis in photographs and voice recordings. While this body of work is not available in the auction, some of it will be on display at this event on December 14.
