POP UP pops up in Berlin with United Notions show

The next stop for Arjowiggins Creative Papers’ touring POP UP show of print design will be Berlin with the addition of an extra show on cultural differences

POP UP (see our post on the London show here) features over a hundred pieces of print collateral using Arjowiggins papers. It includes brochures, brand identities, invitations, books and paper bags among other items with the emphasis on innovative print and finishing techniques.

The Berlin show also features United Notions, a project created by Moscow studio The Bakery and which was first exhibited in that city last month (shown above). The project apparently explores multicultural design across 20 countries. Along with The Bakery, 19 other studios around the world took part. Each was asked to create two posters, one of their own design and one in response to a brief set by one of the other participating studios: “40 posters from 20 studios, explaining simple and complex things through type, illustration, form and colour. The aim is to show that as much as we differ from each other, we still can speak the same language,” the organisers say.

POP UP will be at the Umspannwerk Kreuzberg (shown above) from June 18 to 20.
