Eadweard Muybridge recreated in the medium of Lego

Earlier this year we featured Jon Rolph’s charming short film Paint With Lego, which saw him recreate a Mondrian painting in our favourite coloured bricks. This week, he’s back with another piece, this time a reworking of Eadweard Muybridge’s famous Horse in Motion film…

Shorter than Rolph’s earlier film, the Muybridge film is no less engaging. Its appeal lies in its attention to detail, which can be seen in the stills taken from the film above, which highlight some of the different brick combinations Rolph has used. Apparently each frame took between 5-8 hours to create.

For this work, Rolph has also created a series of prints from the film which can be purchased for £3 from his website at cheesybricks.bigcartel.com.
