Take it away, Wagamama – restaurant launches new packaging design from Pearlfisher

Pearlfisher‘s packaging for the takeaway range offers up some nifty design solutions so that meals are presented as close to how they would be at one of the chain’s canteen-style tables.

According to the agency, each ‘bowl’ comes as a complete package and is housed in a belly band which indicates the particular contents of each order (and also contains the chopsticks). Cleverly, the packaging labels each order from a list of the full Wagamama menu, in case you think you might need to go back.

The use of inserts enables the constituent parts of a dish to be stacked in a single container and, well, makes it all look very nice indeed. The new concept also works nicely with Wagamama’s recent shift in its communications, whereby customers’ placemats display the ingredients that go into a particular dish, encouraging them to try new things in the restaurant.

But as any takeaway aficionado worth their salt (sorry) must be wondering: can these tasty-looking containers be reused?

Pearlfisher say that the bowls and lids are made of polypropylene, so can be recycled, or indeed used to house whatever you like once you’ve cleaned them out. They’ll stack neatly in your kitchen, too.
