The Fine Collection: more printed loveliness from Made Thought for G.F Smith

The Fine Collection uses photography to demonstrate the print performance of eight G.F Smith paper types. Images are arranged by colour and include some beautiful shots of waterfalls, beaches, buildings and wildlife.

Over 10,000 photographs were uploaded to G.F Smith’s website following an open call for submissions and 66 were chosen to appear in the book. (You can see the full set, arranged in colour order, on G.F Smith’s website). Contributors include Ben Ingham, Luke Tonge, Sam Hofman and Daniel Freytag.

Eight images were printed on each different paper range and Made Thought says the aim is to provide visual inspiration as well as a reference book for creatives.

The Fine Collection follows the launch of a hefty 400-page compendium of G.F Smith’s paper stock last year after it was rebranded by Made Thought in 2014. Paper company Arjowiggins launched an equally lavish sample book last year, designed by North, which was promoted with a short film by photographer Dan Tobin Smith.
